SCAG RTP/SCS Approved for Public Review
Today, the Southern California Association of Governments Regional Council voted to release the Regional Transportation Plan for public review and comment. The council voted 39 to 1 to allow the public to give input to the transportation document. Council member Mike Munzing was the only director in opposition, voting to withhold the document from public review, with no explanation why.
The Regional Transportation Plan provides a long range vision for land use investments and transportation over a 20 year period and is a requirement of federal and state laws. SCAG's policy committees and Regional Council have worked diligently to revised this plan over a 4 year period, and the public has a right to review and comment on the document before it is submitted. The SCAG Regional Council went to great lengths to make with document available, including extending the comment period to 60 days.
